The Faithful and Just God

Pastor David Lovi

Last week we learned that God is not like anyone else.

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. And true fellowship with him and with each other means walking in the light and being cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

We took a bird’s eye view at vs. 9 in I John 1.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

I really felt that verse is so pregnant with meaning; there’s so much in it. It’s worth it for us to take a more in-depth view on what John is telling us here.

  • Why should we confess our sins if God already knows them?
  • What does it mean that God is faithful and just?
  • Finally, if he cleanses us from all unrighteousness, then how come I don’t always feel so clean?

These are crucially important questions for us, but thankfully, God has all the right answer. Let’s come before God and open our Bibles and hearts.
