Walking in the Light

1 John 1:5-10
March 19, 2017
Pastor David Lovi

Today we’re going to learn about a mark of an authentic Christian which is walking in the light.
The biblical imagery of light is vast and diverse.

The Bible talks about physical light. In fact, that’s the first thing that God created on the first day of history when He said, “Let there be light.” And there was light and God saw that the light was good and there was evening and morning, the first day.

We learned about light and the different kinds of light when we studied Genesis.

Light is also a symbol of goodness and blessing. Light is a symbol of truth.

Peter describes the Word of God as a lamp shining in a dark place in II Peter 1. In Revelation 22, We read that in the new Jerusalem and new heavens and new earth there will be no need for the sun and the moon, for the glory of God is its light and its lamp is the Lamb.

Today we’re going to learn what it means to walk in the light of Jesus as the mark of being an authentic Christian.
