Host Teams Ministry

“Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”

Romans 12:13

Why are Host Teams Necessary?
In a rapidly growing congregation like this one, handling hosting responsibilities in an efficient manner enhances the experience of all who attend various activities and allows the Holy Spirit to work among us with less distractions.

In addition, the many guests who come to the church each month need to feel as welcome as possible and connect with those who have made CrossView Church their church home.

The Purpose of Host Teams
The host team exists to help provide an atmosphere of hospitality, friendliness, and order for worship services and special events hosted by CrossView Church in keeping with the following goals in the church vision statement:"Welcome all people, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey." and "strive for the best possible corporate worship experience, which exalts the Triune God, enriches believers, and enlightens seekers."

Host Teams
There are several different opportunities to participate. Individuals may serve in more than one team, if they desire to and have the time available to be effective in each area.

Greeters
Responsibilities: Making sure those who enter the church are properly welcomed.
Activities:Entryway greeters, building escorts, special events hospitality.

Ushers

Activities:
Traffic flow in and out of the sanctuary; help find seating; hand out bulletins and other pamphlets; take offering; serve communion; and assist in emergencies.

Guiding Biblical Principles
We are to show hospitality to others, especially strangers (Romans 12:13; Hebrews 13:2).
We are to encourage believers to become active in a local church (Hebrews 10:24-25).
We are to make sure major church activities proceed in an orderly manner (1Corinthians 14:40).

Requirements for Participation
A heart for God and desire to serve Him.
A teachable spirit.
A friendly openness to getting to know people.
An attitude of helpfulness.
A strong desire to make guests feel at home and become connected with others in the congregation.
