MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BREAD OF LIFE SHARE CENTER
The ministry has a new opportunity to have a food truck here at CVC each month now through June 2018! If you are able to help once a month to pass out food to people in need in our community, please contact Cathy Leighliter at 847-973-0934 for more information.

BROWN BAG BOOK CLUB
Tuesdays ~ 11:15am-1:00pm
The Book Club will not be meeting on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24. Join with Pastor David on Reformation Day, Oct. 31, when they will begin a new book entitled, Redemption Accomplished and Applied, by John Murray. This book explains the two sides of redemption—its accomplishment through Christ’s atonement and its application to the lives of believers. In this theological classic Murray first explores the necessity, nature, perfection, and extent of the atonement. He then goes on to expound the biblical teaching about calling, regeneration, faith and repentance, justification, adoption, sanctification, perseverance, union with Christ, and glorification. Cost of book is $10.
TRUNK OR TREAT
Tuesday October 31st, ~ 4:00-7:00 pm
Crossview Church is planning a big event called ‘Trunk or Treat’ to reach out into our community on Halloween night. For those who may not know, Trunk or Treat was started in the late 1990’s by churches that were uncomfortable celebrating some of the themes of Halloween. Trunk or Treat is a fun and safe way to provide families an alternative to trick or treating door to door. It’s fun because costumed children walk through a parking lot of many different decorated cars collecting candy. It’s safe because it prevents one of the biggest dangers of trick or treating: kids running around streets with moving cars. Trunk or Treat gives families a way to celebrate in a safe environment while at the same time being respectful of their neighbors who don’t celebrate the holiday. By hosting Trunk or Treat we control the content and keep the negative connotations out of the celebration such as witches and demons.
How You Can Help
By creating our own celebration of the holiday, CrossView Church can give back to the community what was once an innocent and fun way to celebrate the changing of the seasons. There will be music, food trucks and entertainment available to create excitement. We ask you to join in the fun and activities in many ways. You can provide your car to be decorated for the event, you can help decorate cars, you can purchase candy for the cars to hand out, you can run some of the games for the children to perform, you can make posters or hand out tracks. We also need people at the welcome station to guide the parents and the kids on where to go. We need people to help with parking during the event to keep the children safe. This event will be promoted extensively throughout our community so we need your help to make this a memorable event.
Stop by the display in the foyer this Sunday to inquire about how you can be a part of the excitement and fun. Please volunteer to be a part of this event, so CrossView Church can shine a light in our community by spreading God’s Word, bringing him glory and praise during a time of year where he has been forgotten. Let’s put back the good, from what the secular world has taken away from a Christian holiday!

CROSSVIEW CHURCH E-PRAYER CHAIN
The CVC E-Prayer Chain is a ministry that serves others through the power of prayer. Prayer requests that come into the Church Office are, upon approval, released to a group of faithful servants via e-mail. This group of individuals is committed to praying for the requests that come in on a daily basis. These requests range from health concerns, relationships, spiritual issues, financial concerns, etc. for CVC attenders and families, and their broader network (neighbors, co-workers, relatives, etc.) If you would like to serve as an intercessor for your brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus by having your name and email address added to our E-Prayer Chain, please contact the Church Office by phone (847-395-4117) or email at email@example.com.
The 2nd Sunday of each month has been designated as ‘Baptism Sunday.’ If you have questions or are considering taking this next important step in your faith, please call the church office to make an appointment to meet with Pastor David or indicate your interest to be baptized on a Welcome Card and place in the offering plate.
If you have been considering becoming a member of CrossView Church, please contact the church office for an application which explains the process for becoming a member or you may contact Pastor David or an Elder with any questions.
